The new social studies frameworks are designed to assist curriculum writers at the district level as they write or revise the social studies curriculum for their districts. This document is not intended to be a state curriculum. In a "local control" state such as Connecticut, each district can use the document as it sees fit. However, there is much that is new and exciting in these frameworks, and it is highly recommended that this document be used as a model of curriculum change in any district.
